Xodus Group is bolstering its impressive renewables credentials by acquiring an industry leading specialist consultancy.

Xodus has acquired Anglesey based James Ingram & Associates for an undisclosed sum, bringing a powerhouse of offshore wind, wave and tidal experience into the fold.

The move comes as Xodus launches its new Low Carbon business stream, which is positioned equal to Oil and Gas and integrated into all six divisions.

James Ingram will join Xodus as Head of Low Carbon and his team will also be transferred into the Group.

Colin Manson, CEO of Xodus Group says the move will strengthen Xodus' growing reputation in renewable engineering. He said: 'We have built a great reputation in the renewable sector both in front-end structural and subsea engineering and through our environmental division, but this acquisition takes us to a whole new level. James has worked on some of the most high profile renewable projects including turbine design backed by the likes of Rolls Royce, so we are delighted to be bringing those world-class capabilities in-house.'

James Ingram & Associates has 10 years' offshore wind, wave and tidal experience with clients including BP Alternative Energy, Scottish Power, Keppel Group, Dexia Bank and a Round 3 offshore wind developer.

Services include technical and commercial project engineering and due diligence and strategic management. Delivering an integrated service offering, the company works across the sector with project developers, technology suppliers, marine contractors, finance providers and government.

Successful contracts James Ingram & Associates has won include framework agreements with both the UK Dept of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and UK energy regulator (OFGEM). The company participated in two major offshore wind R&D projects with the UK Energy Technologies Institute. The consultancy was also involved in the offshore engineering on more than 10 wind projects in the UK, France, Germany, Holland and Belgium in addition to numerous wave and tidal technology developments.
