Labtech Services, manufacturers of living quarters, office and technical modular buildings, has dispatched its latest large integrated modular building project to the Far East.

The company, which is based in Aberdeen, has successfully loaded out its latest cement house on time from Aberdeen Harbour to Qidong Shipyard in China. The deck-mounted structure will be installed on a FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) vessel that will ultimately be deployed in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. It is the fourth unit to be completed and will deck mounted on new vessels for the same client.

The cement house module - which weighs in excess of 100 tonnes - provides a packaging solution for offshore cementing equipment and comprises an engine, pump and mixing units. It also features an HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) system and fire and gas protection system, with customised control panels. The cement house was constructed in three sub-modules, given the constraints imposed by site lifting capacity.
