Asia’s maritime community will converge in Singapore next week for the Asia Pacific Maritime (APM) 2012. To be held 14 to 16 March at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore will host more than 1,300 leading international maritime companies from 53 countries, a 40% hike as compared to the last edition in 2010, at one of Asia’s leading maritime events.
APM will bring together more than 70 world maritime thought-leaders in a series of dynamic conferences to discuss and analyse the trends dominating shipping discussions at the moment, most notably the promising sectors of offshore marine and green shipping, and the growth of Asia as a major economic and shipping region.
Shipping giants, China, South Korea, Japan, Norway, United Kingdom, and Germany will also return with bigger pavilions and higher participation numbers. Over 13,000 Asian visitors are expected to attend the three-day exhibition and conference where they can learn about the newest marine solutions and technology to improve fleet efficiency and fuel savings, and view the latest in power instruments innovation and ship safety and security features; useful at a time when minding costs are paramount, tightening regulations demand more efficient technical and operational measures and piracy remains a key concern in Asia.
