AWE Limited reports that at 0600 hours Tuesday the Evandra-2 well had reached TD at a measured depth of 7,592 feet (2,314 meters). The targeted Dongara Sandstone reservoir was not present in the well. Strong oil shows were observed over a 46 feet (14 meter) interval in the underlying Wagina Sandstone but this does not appear to be economic. The well will be plugged and abandoned.

Evandra -2 in Production License L1, onshore Perth Basin, was drilled as a side-track from the existing Evandra-1 wellbore to establish the presence of the Dongara reservoir over the Evandra structure. Evandra-1, drilled in 2005 did not intersect the Dongara reservoir, which was interpreted to be faulted out at the well location.
