Russneft puts into operation new Western Siberian oil fields

RussNeft continues to develop Shapshinskoe group of fields /Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District, Western siberia/ implementing ambitious drilling programs, ramping up production, and putting into operation new oilfields of this license area.

In May 2009 Sredne-Shapshinskoe oilfield has been put into operation. In the end of 2008 Verkhne-Shapshinskoe oilfield was put into test operation. Earlier in 2006 there was started operation and maintenance phase at Nizhne-Shapshinskoe oilfield. The remaining recoverable reserves of these oilfields exceed 80 million tons of oil.

The execution of this project is of strategic importance for OJSC Oil and Gas Company "RussNeft". In 2004-2005 the Company has created the basic engineering infrustructure of these oilfields, has built the most important production and administrative-social facilities and has prepared the group for the staged commissioning, which began in 2006 with the industrial operation of Nizhne-Shapshinskoe oilfield. Shapshinskoe froup of fields is being developed by the subsidiary enterprise of the Company – ??? "NAK "Aki-Otyr".

The enterprise actively carries out works on exploitation drilling. For the year the operating well stock increased by 2 times and made 76 wells. Only in the beginning of 2009 there were constructed 20 new /in 2008 for the same period there were put into operation 5 wells /. Four of them have horizontal bored sections. The daily production rate of horizontal wells makes 88 per day, vertical – 40 per day. By the end of 2009 it's planned to put into operation 35 new wells.
