Airgas, Inc., and its Advanced Fabrication Technologies group are demonstrating automated solutions for metal fabrication at FABTECH 2011, North America's largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event, Monday, November 14th through Thursday, November 17th at McCormick Place, Chicago, IL. Featured demonstrations focus on how metal fabricators can increase operational efficiency, improve cutting and welding output quality, and lower the total cost of operations.
"We're seeing a high degree of interest in our automated solutions as metal fabricators are looking for every advantage they can get in order to be more competitive," said Jeff Cass, Airgas vice president - metal fabrication markets. "For many customers, our automated solutions are the result of extensive process evaluations that include a quantitative and qualitative review of operations. With the results of the study, we recommend the best solutions based on the customer's goals. We provide advice on process changes. We also source equipment, install it, as well as provide training and service. And we provide complete supply chain management for the gases, consumables, and safety products fabricators use every day."
Live demonstrations in the Airgas exhibit (number 6146) during FABTECH include automated welding with a Miller PA 250 M PerformArc Robotic Welder using Airgas Gold Gas® shielding gases, plasma cutting with a fully functional RETRO-Systems Mini Hornet Plasma Cutting Table, and automated vending using an Airgas Acu-Vend™ system supplied by CribMaster®.
Airgas will also display a ProHeat Induction Heating system, a SubArc Tractor, a Key Plant Fixed Automation Cladding System, as well as gas mixing panels.
