Many of the world’s leading oil & gas operators and contractors will be converging on Manchester this November for what is expected to be the biggest event of the year for the UK’s oil & gas supply chain – the EIC Connect Oil & Gas International Supply Chain Event & Conference 2012. The event, now in its 10th year and taking place on November 27th and 28th 2012 at Manchester Central, is being hosted by the EIC (Energy Industries Council), the leading trade association for UK companies supplying goods and services to the energy industries worldwide.
Aker Solutions, Amec, Bechtel, BG Group, ConocoPhillips, Centrica, Petrobras, Petrofac and SBM Offshore have already confirmed that they will be presenting details of their latest global oil & gas projects and supply chain and buying strategies at the event. All presentations will be supplemented by One-2-One meetings where delegates will have the opportunity to put their case direct to key purchasing decision-makers.
Hans Wagner, Proposals & Technical Manager at SBM Offshore, who will be speaking at the event, said: “With contracts awarded to UK companies representing a quarter of SBM’s total spend each year, we are keen to provide a corporate update to the supply chain at EIC Connect this year – an event that has proved to be an excellent industry networking event in the past. We look forward to sharing new developments and some of our technological and commercial challenges.”
EIC Connect Oil and Gas will also, for the first time, feature a conference to complement the exhibitor stands, One-2-One meetings and supply chain presentations, adding a new dimension to the event and enabling some of the industry’s most pressing topics to be addressed. Subject areas to be covered include ‘LNG & Unconventional Gas’, ‘What’s left in the North Sea’, and ‘Emerging Markets and Challenging Frontiers.’
To date, over 60 companies have signed up to be exhibitors with over 95% of space already booked. Event sponsors include safety equipment specialists, Draeger Safety UK Ltd and Hyperion Systems Engineering Group, a provider of specialised solutions and services to the global process industry.
“We believe that EIC Connect Oil & Gas is the perfect platform to showcase the Draeger business to the oil & gas sector,” commented Sophie Read of Draeger Safety UK. “We are delighted to be sponsoring an event with such a strong reputation and look forward to engaging with and developing long-term contacts.”
