The 2011 SPE Reservoir Characterisation and Simulation Conference and Exhibition (RCSC) is the third edition of the event organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers. It will take place 9–11 October at the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi, and is expected to gather delegates from both regional and international oil and gas companies.
This relevant discipline in the region will bring experts together to discuss the theme “Modelling Advances to Optimise Production and Recovery”. The technical programme will include an executive plenary session titled ‘Industry Collaborative Strategies to Optimise Recovery’, two panel sessions to discuss ‘Characterisation and Modelling Challenges of EOR in Carbonate Reservoirs’ and ‘Integrated Approach to Meet Characterisation Modelling Challenges’, a series of over forty technical presentations and poster sessions, as well as a training course entitled ‘Ensuring Reliable SCAL Data for Reservoir Modelling’. The Regional SPE Honours and Awards Ceremony will also take place at the same venue on the first evening on Sunday, 9 October.
The event will include an exhibition where leading organisations like ADMA-OPCO, Computer Modelling Group, Schlumberger, Senergy, SPT Group, and ZADCO will showcase state-of-the-art and innovative technologies in reservoir characterisation and simulation. Each conference attendee will have a chance to win an iPad 2 through a raffle draw taking place on the last day of the event, 11 October.
Top industry representatives will be present from companies such as ADCO, ADMA-OPCO, ADNOC, Agiba Petroleum Company, Baker Hughes, BP, CGG Veritas, CMG Middle East, GeoMechanics International, Halliburton, Institute of Petroleum Engineering, Kuwait Oil Company, Maersk Oil, Mellitah Oil & Gas BV, Petroleum Development Oman, RasGas, Saudi Aramco, Schlumberger, Shell, Tatweer Petroleum, The Petroleum Institute, Total, and ZADCO.
