SeeByte has declared participation in the 8th International Maritime and Naval exhibition and conference for Latin America, EXPONAVAL 2012.

EXPONAVAL 2012 in Puerto Valparaíso, Chile, will focus on the topic: “Navy challenges when Facing Emergency Situations and Catastrophes, and providing Humanitarian Support in the Context of Peacekeeping Operations.” Within this area, unmanned underwater vehicles have already become a common feature and have been instrumental in mitigating the effects of these emergency situations. SeeByte’s software enhances these solutions by allowing the operator to plan missions, manage resources and process data in an efficient and fast manner.

Ioseba Tena, Sales Manager at SeeByte said: “The use of unmanned underwater vehicles is on the increase with more systems being bought and with higher utilisation rates. These systems use high definition sonars and other sensors to make maps and carry out very accurate measurements of the underwater environment. For navies, they are the ideal tool to fight the danger posed by mines and to protect our coastlines. They are also especially useful for salvage and rescue operations. Our software solutions are already preferred by 15 navies worldwide and they are the US Navy’s chosen tool for such missions. I hope that EXPONAVAL serves as a platform to introduce SeeByte to Latin American countries contemplating the use of unmanned underwater vehicles.”
