Italian-based oil company Eni said it has a "significant success" at the deepwater Jangkrik discovery in Indonesia's Kutei Basin.
The company said the find “confirms the high potential of its portfolio in the area”. The Muara Bakau well was drilled in 400 metres of water east of mainland Kalimantan and north of the Sumatra Island.
Eni, with 11 permits, is “everywhere” in Indonesia, both in deepwater and in river basins.
