Advanced Flow Technologies Inc. (AFTI) reported that its Watch-DOG technology for monitoring gas wells passed its first winter time test with flying colours. Watch-DOG is designed to monitor gas wells for freeze-ups, alerting producers with colour coded icons on a map when a well is in danger of freezing.
”On average, 15 percent of our clients' wells were in danger of freezing during last week’s cold snap. Watch Dog clearly identified which wells were in danger of freezing and which wells could be ignored. With today’s low gas prices it is more important than ever to provide information to field staff which allows them to target only wells which are in danger of freezing”, says Len Johnson, President of AFTI
One of our clients, a major gas producers, has advised us that their winter time production losses were half of last year’s experience as a result of using our technology, added Johnson.
Watch-DOG alerts producers over a secure website to show the location of production problems. The new technology is low cost, portable and easily user installed.
