AlMansoori Specialized Engineering (MSE), the leading regional provider of oilfield services in the Middle East, highlighted its recent international joint ventures, which will bring a range of industry-leading technology to operators across the Middle East North Africa and increase its US presence, at its annual open-house day.

More than 1,000 leading figures from the oil and gas industry in the Middle East attended the popular event at the company’s base in Mussaffah, Abu Dhabi on Thursday 25 March. This year’s open-house day was particularly important given developments within the company in the past month, which have seen MSE’s subsidiary, AlMansoori Petroleum Services (AMPS), sign two joint venture agreements which will significantly enhance its service offering and capabilities.

AMPS is working with US based Rodgers Technology to bring the company’s next generation hydraulic workover “Versa-Rig” to the eastern hemisphere. Operating under the new AlMansoori Hydraulic Workover Services division, the versatile rig can be used for a variety of workover services including underbalanced and directional drilling, live well intervention, completion and well control services and ESP pump replacements.

Compared with traditional snubbing units, it can be rigged-up and operated in close proximity to a drilling rig, while its total weight rests off the casing and on the sub-structure. This significantly reduces the likelihood of casing failure, which can cause fatalities on the rig floor and hundreds of thousand of dollars in damage.

AMPS has also added new services to the company’s capabilities in coil tubing, workover rigs, pumping/cementing, fracturing and acidizing through its JV with American-based onshore energy production services company Key Energy Services. The joint venture will see the based firm establish a base in the Middle East for the first time and signifies AlMansoori’s expansion into the region, which it will target heavily in 2010.

Guests at the open-house day were also given a preview of MSE’s new integrated service offering, AlMansoori Integrated Energy Services (MIES), which will be launched later this year. MIES will provide clients with tailored solutions, combining the most effective technologies and services in one efficient package. With AlMansoori’s extensive range of services, MES will bring together the relevant divisions into one streamlined process, providing operators with a cost and time effective solution.

Nabil Alalawi, CEO of AlMansoori, said: “Our agreements with Rodgers Technology and Key Energy will play a major role in the future of AlMansoori. Being able to offer industry-leading technologies such as Versa-Rig will ensure we remain one of the leading oilfield service providers in the Middle East.

“The open-house day is an excellent opportunity for our customers and potential clients to observe the world-class standards we have in place and see the pride we take in our company.”
