The IEA predicts a bright future for natural gas. But how bright? It is due to answer that question at the European Gas Conference (EGC) in Oslo on 7 June.
The latest changes in unconventional gas supplies will also be included in the analysis. This takes the form of a report which will supplement World Energy Outlook 2011 and is due to be presented in London on 6 June.
“IEA chief economist Fatih Birol will then outline its conclusions at a special session of the EGC on the following day,” says Pål Rasmussen, who chairs the conference board.
The EGC is regarded as one of Europe’s most important meetings for the gas industry, where key personnel from this sector mingle with central policy makers to exchange ideas and discuss market trends.
Gassco is principal sponsor for the Oslo conference, with the Norwegian Gas Association responsible for its organisation.
