Basra Oil & Gas Exhibition

For the second year in a row, Move One has successfully operated as a preferred forwarder of the Basra Oil & Gas Exhibition. This year’s show saw a marked increase in the number and type of exhibitors. While 150 companies participated in 2010, 2011 saw 350 companies on hand to network, and exhibit and market goods and services to the Southern Iraq oil and gas sector.

Move One also saw an increase in clientele for the conference, with excellent results. “I can say that everyone involved worked very hard and to good effect,” says Craig Bailey, Move One’s South Iraq Business Development Manager. “Every shipment coordinated by Move One was delivered intact and on time with every client indicating high satisfaction.” A diversity of exhibitors, including most of those from last year and a broader global presence, created additional logistical challenges. “Assisting clients with logistics services in Iraq and removing all concerns by providing increased communication and attention to detail is what Move One is known for” he adds.

Move One partners Expotim and Pyramids also made great strides in accommodating growth. Increased interest meant the exhibition center had to be expanded on short notice, making room for additional personnel in an environment not readily equipped with convention amenities.

This year’s show indicated maturing of the oil and gas market and economic growth, as well as increased stability in Southern Iraq. “Given the exponential growth of the second show as compared to the first,” says Bailey, “I feel it is a clear indicator of both the newly found momentum in Southern Iraq oil and gas activities and the growing interest by companies from around the world to serve their clients’ needs in the country.”

With three strategically located offices throughout Iraq, including facilities in Baghdad, Erbil, and Az Zubayr, Move One Logistics has the necessary experience and resources to handle the country’s most challenging logistical requirements. A newly completed compound in southern Az Zubayr now gives Move One enhanced levels of coordination between staff, agents, and clients, reinforcing the company’s position as the leading logistics provider in Iraq. Our extensive local knowledge has helped to build a successful track record in delivering everything from small shipments to heavy and over-sized cargo for customers in various business sectors, including oil and gas, diplomatic, military, and civil reconstruction projects.
