The winner of the 2010 Roger Vielvoye Memorial Award is the Bellona Foundation.
“This year’s winner has maintained a consistently high profile at ONS over the years, always making its experts available to members of the press to discuss issues related to the energy industry’s response to environmental and climate change issues”, said Darius Snieckus, the technology editor at Recharge newspaper in London and the current chairman of the Roger Vielvoye Memorial Award.
“Not an organisaton afraid to challenge authority – or indeed court controversy – in making its point, this year’s winner particularly impressed the Vielvoye award committee by its solution-driven approaching to the ever-evolving energy demands of our global society – a 12 step programme to help the world recover from its century of ‘petrolism’ and move into a new era fuelled by renewable energy.”
