GATE to support Chevron's Big Foot operations

GATE (Gibson Applied Technology & Engineering) LLC has been selected by Chevron Corporation to provide specialized project engineering and support during the FEED stage for its Big Foot development in the Gulf of Mexico.

The scope of GATE's work will be to provide specialized chemical systems, materials & corrosion and operations & HSE support to the FEED stage of the Big Foot development.

GATE will be responsible for the chemical injection system design, chemical vendor selection and management, asset integrity management, scale squeeze design, ballast and potable water system material selection & discharges and general HSE support.

The Big Foot field is located in more than 1,500 meters of water on Walker Ridge 29, approximately 362 kilometers south of New Orleans, and 290 miles offshore. Exploration and appraisal wells drilled over the past three years have indicated Big Foot has as much as 90 meters or more of net oil pay.

GATE's Chemical Systems Engineering Manager, Karthik Annadorai, said that this project award reinforces the strength of GATE's position as a leader for chemical systems and materials expertise in the upstream oil and gas industry.
