Cooperation between TESS branches on two continents and in three countries resulted in the construction vessel “Island Pioneer” being fitted with new hydraulic hoses. The project was yet another good example of what TESS is capable of achieving across borders and oceans.
A shipping company which is asking for new hoses expects that the hose supplier takes full responsibility. A delivery is never completed before the hoses are fitted and working properly onboard the vessel. In November 2012 TESS Aberdeen received an inquiry from Island Offshore for assembling and installing 200 hydraulic hoses onboard the SCV-vessel “Island Pioneer” – contracted by the service company Blue Marine based in GoM.
At the harbor in Blyth
The assembly project was given to the headquarters in Norway. All the hose’s were completed in the workshop nearby Drammen. “Island Pioneer” was at this time at the harbor in Blyth, UK. A crew from TESS Aberdeen made a visual inspection onboard the vessel and the hoses were loaded onboard. The shipping company did have a very tight time schedule, and therefore they left the harbor without the hoses being installed.
