IMarEST HQ specialists head to Australia and Singapore

Two key members of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) headquarters team have packed their bags in order to take up posts, on secondment, in Australia and Singapore. Dr Hannah Flint has moved to Australia to take up the role of Divisional Manager, ANZSPAC, the Institute’s Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific Division, and Patrik Wheater will be editing Shipping World & Shipbuilder from Singapore.

“As a professional body we constantly refer to CPD – continual professional development – and what better way is there to demonstrate this than to help members of our own team add to their competencies and life experience?” asks IMarEST’s Chief Executive, David Loosley. “Hannah has had one highly successful secondment to Australia and when the position of Divisional Manager became vacant, she was the obvious choice. Patrik’s move is very much on the basis of South East Asia being the hub for shipbuilding, so that is where we should base our Editor. Hannah is already in Australia; and Patrik will move to Singapore in mid-August.”
