Clough awarded US$22m pipelay contract in Thailand

Engineering and construction company Clough Limited has been awarded a contract by REAL (Real Offshore Installation Company Sdn. Bhd) of Malaysia for the installation of a 24" pipeline and associated tie-ins and stalk-on risers within the B17 field development. The B17 field development, which is in the offshore Joint Development Area (JDA) between Malaysia and Thailand, is operated by CPOC (Carigali-PTTEP Operating Company Sdn. Bhd).

John Smith, Clough’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “We are pleased to get the opportunity to continue our cooperation with REAL. This is the first commitment for the Java Constructor to follow her upgrade. Being a day rate job, this opportunity has the adequate risk profile and the right schedule flexibility to guarantee continuity of work for the vessel in advance of its next commitment in Australia.”

The offshore installation campaign is scheduled to start the second quarter of 2009, and is expected to last a minimum of one month with opportunity to extend a further 60 days.
