FMC Technologies has signed an agreement with Total for the manufacture and supply of three Enhanced Horizontal Xmas Trees for an unnamed project in the North Sea and a price left unstated.

The order supports Total’s exploration strategy and provides the company with the opportunity to ‘fast-track’ discoveries to production around its North Sea assets. All equipment will be designed and manufactured at FMC’s Dunfermline facility, with first deliveries scheduled to commence in July 2009.

“FMC and Total have recently worked closely on a number of developments, including Otter, Islay and Jura, with Jura coming on stream only 18 months after discovery,” said David Currie, managing director of the Dunfermline facility.

“Today’s announcement strengthens our relationship with Total and we are pleased to support Total and their commitment to continue developing the North Sea’s oil and gas resources.”
