Guy M. Oliver, Ph.D., has been named President of Fugro Robertson Inc., Fugro Robertson Group of Companies Managing Director Mark Weber announced.
Based in Houston, Oliver’s responsibilities include the overall management of company performance; technical marketing support of sales and business development; and the implementation of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) policies. He will also guide the business development efforts of RoqSCAN™, a step change tool for analyzing drilling cuttings at the wellsite.
Oliver began his career with Fugro Robertson (formerly Robertson Research International Ltd.) in 1997 as a sedimentologist, and has served as a Director of the Company since 2004.
“Guy’s professional and hands-on experience in the geological applications for oil and gas exploration and his strong sense for business make him an invaluable leader,” said Weber.
Oliver has 18 years of global experience in the oil and gas and geosciences sectors, specializing in high-resolution sequence stratigraphy and specialist technical services. He holds a Master of Science in Petroleum Reservoir Development Geology from the University of London, Imperial College; and a doctorate in high-resolution sequence stratigraphy from the University of Plymouth, UK.
