StatoilHydro has asked Prosafe for the provision of accommodation support rig Safe Scandinavia at the Snorre A offshore facility in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

The six-month contact worth $92 million includes mobilzation and demobilization costs, but a 17-month, $104 million option might yet overrule the letter of intent, it was understood Tuesday.

The contract linked to the LoI has two firm durations, six months starting in early May 2010 and six months that could begin in April 2011, a statement said.
