GDF SUEZ E&P U has recently adopted the full Intergraph® SmartPlant® Enterprise engineering suite, including SmartMarine® 3D. The information management, plant operations, electrical, instrumentation, and 3D design solutions will be used in operations on the Cygnus gas field, a major GDF SUEZ E&P development project, which sanction is targeted mid-2012. The Cygnus gas field is situated over U.K. Continental Shelf blocks 44/12a and 44/11a. The appraisal drilling performed since 2006 has proven the Cygnus field to be one of the most significant gas discoveries in the Southern North Sea in the last 30 years.

GDF SUEZ E&P UK identified the requirement for an integrated enterprise engineering solution to initially support operations and maintenance, but with the future capability for supporting the design and construction phases on future projects.
