Delegates from home and overseas have registered for the second three-day Metocean Awareness Course devised and run by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST). Being held Tuesday 15-Thursday 17 September at IMarEST's London headquarters, the course is designed to ensure greater awareness of metocean (meteorology and oceanographic) conditions worldwide amongst project managers and engineers working in the offshore industries (oil and gas and renewable energy) involved in operations or design, ranging from new industry entrants to those with many years' experience.
"Our registered delegates represent all sectors of the offshore industries," explains IMarEST's Technical Manager, Dr Bev MacKenzie. "Some are from companies who sent delegates to the first course held earlier this year; others are new to us, and to the course. We are delighted by feedback from delegates at our inaugural course and who have been putting what they learned into practice. This second course is filling up fast, so I would urge early booking!"
