Det norske gets consent for drillin in North Sea

Bredford Dolphin-2

Det norske has received consent to conduct exploration drilling in the North Sea with the mobile facility Bredford Dolphin.

Exploration well 15/9-24 is part of production license 408 and is located about 15 kilometers north-northeast of the Varg field.

The well has the following geographical coordinates:

•N 58° 16' 27.51" •Ø 01° 58' 55.87" Water depth at the drilling location is 80 m.

The duration of the activity will be about 35 days if the well is dry and about 67 days if a discovery is made, including logging, coring and a geological sidetrack.

The Bredford Dolphin (photo) is a third-generation semi-submersible drilling facility of type Aker H-3, built in 1976.

The facility is owned by Fred Olsen ASA and operated by Dolphin AS (Dolphin), with headquarters in Stavanger. The flag state is Singapore, with DNV as classification society.

The Bredford Dolphin received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) from the PSA on June 28, 2007.
