Lundin Petroleum spuds Nemo appraisal well, offshore norway

Lundin Petroleum report that the sidetrack 16/2-11A of the appraisal well 16/2-11 has confirmed good quality in Upper and Middle Jurassic reservoir. The well was drilled approximately 3.3 km southwest of the discovery well 16/2-6 and 760 metres north east of the 16/2-11 appraisal well. The Johan Sverdrup field is located in licences PL501 and PL265 on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).

The sidetrack well (16/2-11A) encountered a gross reservoir column of approximately 51 metres of which 35 metres was above the oil water contact. The oil water contact was established and in line with other wells in PL501. A comprehensive coring and logging programme has been performed which confirmed the good reservoir properties in the appraisal well 16/2-11.

The total depth of the sidetrack was 2,365 metres. The wells will be plugged and abandoned.
