Eneco Holding N.V. in the Netherlands will take over the activities of Ecostream, the German solar company. Until now Ecostream was part of the Econcern group, which became insolvent at the end of May. With Eneco as the new owner Ecostream will be able to continue its business as usual.
Eneco is one of the leading players in the Dutch energy market. Eneco applies an integrated distribution strategy and specialises in the production, transmission, trading, supply and metering of energy (electricity, gas and heat) and related products and services. Eneco is making a transition to becoming a sustainable energy company and will continue to make substantial investments in the area of sustainable energy in the coming years.
In this process the acquisition of Ecostream is a strategically important step in order to extend the competencies in the solar sector.
Jeroen de Haas, CEO of Eneco, said, “We are delighted that Eneco can build on the experience of Ecostream Germany and expand its activities in the German market. This acquisition is a further strengthening of our sustainable strategy.”
Ecostream is one of the leading system suppliers of solar power systems in Europe. The company possesses wide experience, know-how and market knowledge as well as a specialized team and an efficient partner network.
“This acquisition opens a chance for us, to continue our successful business activities and to maintain our positioning as a leading system supplier and project partner in the solar market even in the future”, says Peter de Bree, managing director of Ecostream Germany. De Bree continues: “With Eneco we have found a strong new owner, who will share this challenge with us.”
