The EIC

The EIC, the leading trade association for UK companies that supply goods and services to the energy industries worldwide, is holding EIConnect Energy at the InterContinental Hotel in Abu Dhabi on 29 March 2011.

Leading national and International oil companies, operators and contractors will be presenting their project and procurement plans for the region. These include purchasers from Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO), Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd (GASCO), Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO), BP, Jacobs, Punj Lloyd, Masdar, Mott MacDonald, Shaw, Shell, Siemens (who is also lead sponsor of the day), WorleyParsons, and ZADCO (Zakum Development Company).

Sponsors of the day include WEG Electric Corporation, DHL, Mott MacDonald and Shaw.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to see a range of quality, innovative products and services showcased by 30 exhibitors which, between them, offer expertise across the supply chain from pipeline technologies and industrial devices to drilling, flow assurance, safety and surveillance and water treatment.

EIConnect Energy will provide a strong networking environment, encouraging dialogue between the wider energy industry communities as well as revenue generating opportunities for the supply chain. Through a dedicated booking system, registered delegates and exhibitors will have the opportunity to prearrange one-to-one meetings at the event.

As part of the EIConnect Energy programme, the EIC is also hosting an ‘Ice Breaker’ Evening Reception as a prelude to the main event, bringing together senior individuals from the region, event speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, and the media.

EIConnect is a twice yearly programme of events with its presence in Abu Dhabi this year reflecting the growing importance and market potential offered by the Middle East to the UK supply chain. In the upstream sector alone, the EIC’s specialist database, EICDataStream tracking over 8,000 projects across the global energy industry, shows that there are currently 226 active and future projects in the region with an estimated value of over US$333 billion.

Said Sarah Lansdell, National Event Manager for the EIC: “During the last few years EIConnect has firmly established itself as the only event of its kind for suppliers in the energy industry. We are delighted to be bringing our winning formula directly to Abu Dhabi this year.”

Terry Willis, Managing Director of the EIC Middle East office added, “The Middle East accounts for the highest proportion of EIC member company interest which is not surprising given that the energy market here offers such a range of exciting opportunities to UK supply chain companies. EIConnect Energy will provide an excellent platform for helping such companies identify and explore new business opportunities in the region.”
