The 20th World Petroleum Congress (WPC) is held in Doha, Qatar from 4 - 8 December 2011 and is the largest Congress to date. The Energy Institute (EI) is the official publisher of this event's proceedings which are now available to order online.
Published in an easy to reference and search electronic format, the 20th WPC proceedings include content from the 100+ sessions held as part of the WPC event. The Doha proceedings provide an extensive record comprising papers and presentations from keynote speeches, plenary sessions, roundtable discussions, and opening and closing ceremonies.
Dr Pierce Riemer FEI, Director General, World Petroleum Council, says, ‘We are delighted that the EI is once again publishing these proceedings on behalf of the World Petroleum Council. With over 100 parallel sessions, held over the course of five days, it is not always possible to attend all of the technical sessions so these proceedings ensure delegates and those unable to attend don’t miss out.’
The theme of this year’s event is ‘Energy solutions for all. Promoting cooperation, innovation and investment’. These comprehensive proceedings will have papers from all sessions which include: new exploration and production frontiers and technologies; innovations in refining, transportation, fuel technology and petrochemistry; sustainability commitment and industry responses to climate change.
The 20th WPC is the first to be held in the Middle East since its establishment in 1933 and this year has attracted an attendance of over 4000 delegates, 600 presenters and 600 media representatives.
