Enovation Resources says that gas production has restarted from its West Cameron 225 (OCS-G0900) #'s 7 and 8 wells offshore Gulf of Mexico. Production is expected to build to a stabilized rate over the coming weeks.

Production resumed after completing the installation of a new platform, the WC225 'D' structure, connecting the West Cameron wells to the Targa export pipeline.

The new platform benefits from upgraded compressor and water handling capabilities, which will enable higher production rates and greater depletion levels. Operating costs, as a result of the WC225 'D' platform, are also expected to be significantly reduced. The wells, located some 40 miles off the Louisiana coast in circa 60 ft of water, have now been tied back to the new production facility.

The two wells, which are operated by Houston based Breton Energy LLC, came back online on October 13th. Enovation has a 20.4% working interest in both wells.

Commenting, Diz Mackewn, CEO said, "We are delighted to have resumed gas production in the Gulf of Mexico. The production from these wells will provide cash flow, which will underpin our operations and enable us to concentrate on building further value through our UK North Sea assets. In addition to the enhanced throughput capabilities, overall returns are also expected to improve as a result of the lower running costs of the new facility."
