Foster Marketing President Tiffany Harris has been selected as the 2011 Outstanding Alumna by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Department of Communication. She was recently honored at the department’s Annual Spring Honors Banquet held at the Petroleum Club of Lafayette.
“Every year, we honor someone who brings distinction to themselves and the department,” said Dr. Mike Maher, professor and head of the UL Department of Communication. “We are pleased and proud to honor Tiffany for her work ethic and determination. Those traits have helped her to succeed in collegiate athletics and they have been a catalyst to her meteoric career with Foster Marketing.”
A native of Mustang, Oklahoma, Harris has been with Foster Marketing since graduating from UL (then the University of Southwestern Louisiana) in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in marketing. Her responsibilities at Foster Marketing include the supervision of two offices and 12 employees in addition to account service work for international and domestic clients. She is highly involved in guiding the agency’s public relations, digital marketing, media planning and trade show efforts.
“Tiffany has been an integral part of Foster Marketing’s growth and is a key part of the agency’s future,” said George Foster, company founder and Chief Executive Officer of Foster Marketing. “She has always been a proactive professional and sets a positive example for recent grads and up-and-coming marketers.”
Harris’ community activities include serving as a past president and current vice president of events for the Ragin’ Cajun’s Letterman Club; and as a member of the UL Athletic Advisory Board, UL Alumni Association, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and the Lafayette Optimist Club. Her professional involvement includes memberships with the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, International Association of Drilling Contractors, American Association of Drilling Engineers, Acadiana Advertising Federation and the Business Marketing Association.
While a student, Harris was an All-American, All-South Region and two-time All-Louisiana catcher for the nationally ranked Lady Cajun softball team. She was inducted into the UL Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007 and is still an NCAA record-holder.
