SCAN provides update on M/V SCAN Stigandi

Gold Oil has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with SCAN Geophysical ASA (SCAN) for its multi-purpose 3D/2D vessel M/V SCAN STIGANDI to acquire 2,000 km of 2D data over block Z-34 offshore northern Peru. Mobilization to Z34 is set for late April 2009.

Gold also announces the appointment of Mr Carlos Gaviria as the country manager for Colombia. Mr Gaviria, a Colombian national, is a petroleum engineer with over 25 years of experience and has worked for Exxon, Texaco and Baker International in management positions. In particular Mr Gaviria has direct experience in workover and well recompletion programmes.

Gold Oil Chairman, Mark Pritchard commented 'We are delighted to be working with SCAN to acquire data on our off-shore block Z34 in Northern Peru and look forward to completing the first phase of our license obligations. I am also please to welcome Mr Gaviria to our team. Increasing production from our Nancy Burndine field is a high priority for us and Carlos will be an integral part of this effort'.
