Halliburton awarded $200 million contract

Halliburton has been awarded a contract by ConocoPhillips for directional drilling, logging-while-drilling (LWD) and surface data logging (SDL) services to help develop the high temperature Jasmine discovery in the central North Sea. Halliburton is an industry leader in technologies developed for ultra high temperature and high pressure (HP/HT) environments.

In the Jasmine discovery, which is located in J-Block near existing ConocoPhillips producing fields and infrastructure, temperatures are in the 175 degree C range. ConocoPhillips is the operator of Jasmine and holds a 36.5 percent interest.

"We are pleased to have been awarded this contract for Jasmine, which is a significant North Sea discovery," said Brady Murphy, Halliburton's vice president, Europe/West Africa Region. "This particular project illustrates our ability to deliver services that will help our client reduce costs and increase success rates for the project."
