DNV and Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC), a state-run oil company in South Korea, have agreed to cooperate on environment, health, safety and quality management system enhancement.
On 13 April, 2012, DNV has signed an MOU with Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC) to cooperate on improving KNOC’s environment, health, safety and quality (EHSQ) management system and safety culture.
Based on this MOU, DNV will organise a series of HSE conferences, inviting DNV’s HSE specialists from various regions, sharing its experience and know-how on SHE risk assessment and how to establish a safe and sustainable business environment. Furthermore, DNV has agreed to provide KNOC with training programmes to enhance KNOC’s safety culture and SHE management technology.
As the government-controlled oil company and the only organisation that runs energy projects on behalf of the Korean government, KNOC has continuously acquired foreign oil companies in order to expand its presence in the global energy market and invested considerably in international exploration and development.
