Ikon Science reports the release of RokDoc-WellTie 1.0. The new package, which can be licensed either stand alone or as a module to RokDoc, has been developed at the request of Ikon's customers to simplify the task of tying wells and seismic data. The module is workflow driven and incorporates cascaded workflows enabling users to immediately see the effects on the tie from changes in any part of the process including wavelet estimation and stretch and squeeze log editing.
The workflow driven approach incorporates user help and guidance. For example, unrealistic changes in interval velocity caused by attempts to stretch and squeeze data are automatically highlighted to ensure the user obeys the laws of physics. RokDoc-Well Tie is also available as a plugin to Petrel*.
Martyn Millwood Hargrave commented, 'The science of tying well data to seismic is recognised by everyone as a fundamental task that all interpreters need to do. However, our customers tell us that this vital step can often be neglected or done incorrectly. This exciting new package is aimed at geoscientists who do not need to be familiar with RokDoc or rock physics but need a fast, accurate and easy to use way to ensure that their well data and seismic data are accurately tied'.
