Well intervention and integrity specialist Interwell has recorded significant growth since opening its UK facility in February, more than doubling its pool of expert staff and has announced it is investing more than £2million to expand its Aberdeen operations.
After opening in the UK, the company is now expanding its site in Aberdeen with the construction of a new qualification test facility to accommodate a growing team of in-house design engineers and better serve its local clients.
Over the last year the Interwell UK has embarked on a steady recruitment drive, employing 22 highly experienced staff in less than 12 months.
Interwell offers the slimmest and most advanced well barrier solutions in the upstream oil and gas sector and has attracted more than 20 clients, performing in excess of 50 jobs since opening its Aberdeen base at the beginning of the year.
Interwell UK managing director Andrew Louden says: “We have witnessed rapid growth since establishing the Aberdeen base and have now doubled the size of our premises and created a dedicated test facility to provide a quicker turnaround time for local clients.
“Our product portfolio includes the slimmest retrievable bridge plugs on the market; some of which are capable of withstanding extreme pressures and temperatures.
“We have recruited a first class operations team and highly experienced downhole product designers who enable us to better serve our UK clients with bespoke solutions, tailoring our core products to address client-specific challenges.
“We will launch a number of new products into the marketplace in the coming year to help our clients to improve wellsite safety, reduce operational time, and provide significant operational cost savings. At the moment we are on course to meet our turnover target for this financial year and aim to double that in 2012.”
Interwell is the world’s leading independent supplier of retrievable bridge plugs and its product portfolio can be deployed in almost every oil and gas well; from appraisal to abandonment.
Each of Interwell’s portfolio of solutions can be tailored to solve individual project requirements with very short lead times, providing a rapid response for clients. Interwell also has in-house testing facilities where they can qualify plugs and packers to the ISO 14310 V0 standard
To date they have performed more than 100 successful ISO 14310 qualification tests on their portfolio of products at their purpose built, in-house test facilities.
