Dow Europe GmbH report that two of its DOWLEX™ PE-RT (Polyethylene of Raised Temperature Resistance) resins have received certification from French laboratory IPL for use in drinking water applications, supporting pipes producers wishing to gain an Avis Technique (ATEC) for their PE-RT-based products in France.

The five year certification - dating from March 16, 2012 - means that DOWLEX™ 2344 PE Resin and DOWLEX™ 2388 PE Resin are in full compliance with French regulations covering the chemical composition of materials that could come into contact with drinking water.

The decision means that pipe producers wanting to take advantage of the processing and performance features and benefits offered by these PE-RT resins for production of pipes for drinking water in France can do so knowing that they are satisfying national sanitary regulations.
