Marathon Oil Corporation says that Pamela K.M. Beall has been appointed vice president of Products Supply and Optimization, and C. Michael Palmer has been appointed vice president of Crude Supply and Logistics for Marathon Petroleum Company LLC, the Company's wholly owned Downstream (refining, marketing and transportation) subsidiary. Both appointments are effective June 1, 2010.
In their new positions, Beall and Palmer will be based in Findlay, Ohio, and report to Clifford C. Cook, senior vice president of Supply, Distribution and Planning for Marathon Petroleum Company LLC.
Commenting on the appointments, Gary R. Heminger, Marathon's executive vice president, Downstream, and president of Marathon Petroleum Company LLC, said:
'In these challenging and dynamic times in the Downstream, it's critical to have the proper individuals in key positions, and that's what we accomplish with the appointments of Pam Beall and Mike Palmer. Both have deep roots in the industry and possess the insight and skills to play important roles in enhancing the competitiveness and success of Marathon's leading Downstream operations.
'Pam has proven her leadership abilities as Marathon's vice president of Global Procurement for the past two and a half years. Her strong financial background is an important asset in navigating the complexities of the Downstream business. Mike Palmer also is a seasoned veteran, having held crude oil supply, trading and other management positions for Marathon in the U.S., Canada and overseas. Recently, Mike was senior vice president at Marathon Oil Canada Corporation before assuming his position of director, Crude Supply and Logistics.'
