MESPAS has released version 5.12 of its fleet management software mespasR5. The new release features four new modules: “TMSA II”, “Form Manager”, “Noon Report” and the “Crew Management light” module. Additionally, MESPAS now offers an “accounting interface” to provide an integration of business data from mespas R5 into the company’s accounting software. Further, MESPAS introduced a range of valuable enhancements to the existing modules.

Release of 5.12 further enhances the performance of mespas R5 and allows users to benefit from a comprehensive set of sophisticated yet practicable and user-friendly modules. “We pride ourselves in developing software that takes into account the real needs of our users, that is, crew on board as well as office users on-shore“, says Daniel Gsponer, Chief Technology Officer of MESPAS AG. “All new modules are developed in close collaboration with ship owners and affiliated businesses and ideally supplement the current set of mespas R5 modules.”

The Accounting Interface was developed as a consequence of customers’ needs for a flexible, secure data interchange between their operations data stored on mespas R5 and their accounting software. Mespas R5 features an “xlm” specification of how to interact with existing accounting systems. The data interchange can be integrated, or the parameters can be scheduled according the requirement of the ship manager.

Module TMSA II enables tanker operators to conduct their TMSA score over the entire company, and to add documents and any kind of comments to the module. It incorporates the guidelines of version 2 of the Oil Companies International Maritime Forum (OCIMF), which were published in 2008.

The Form Manager provides a solution for forms that are not part of a planned maintenance solution. This includes, among others, incident reports, non-conformity reports or port reports. As opposed to conventional Form Managers, data entered within the MESPAS Form Manager is “machine-readable data” and thus can be further utilized by the system for reporting purposes. As an additional advantage, once the module has been installed, customers are free to create their own forms according to their own specifications.
