Move One has just completed another massive move of drilling equipment from the former capital city of Almaty, Kazakhstan to the outlying industrial city of Balkhashkol. The transportation of drilling hardware, along with all the tools and support systems that such valuable cargo requires, is undoubtedly a challenge in any environment. Move One has proven yet again that it possesses the expertise and experience to succeed in such demanding projects.
The enormous shipment required trucks to carry it across 450 kilometers of bad roads and poor infrastructure from the point of loading to the final destination. Heavy-lift, 40 ton cranes were required to load the equipment, along with a fleet of flatbeds and lowboys. The cranes themselves then had to be transported back to the capital, in addition to all the industry-certified lashing and stowage supplies provided by Move One.
The entire move was completed in less than 36 hours. Sean Kosa, Move One’s Regional Manager for the Central Asian theater, said of the project “I am very proud of our team and the way they handled this shipment. Our transit was done well under the expected time frame, so our client was especially satisfied with the completed work. As always, we brought a high level of professionalism to this project and we look forward to continuing and developing relationships with both current and new clients from the Kazakh energy industry.”
