Jay Cziraky, Director of Move One Logistics, recently represented Move One at the Special Meeting on Economic Growth and Job Creation in the Arab World organized by the World Economic Forum in Dead Sea, Jordan. The meeting, held from October 21st to 23rd, brought together over 1,000 participants from more than 50 countries, to include ministers from eight countries and more than 65 public figures from around the world.
H.M. King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan opened this special meeting, emphasizing the urgent need for economic growth in the region, and stressing the fact that the Middle East has one of the highest youth unemployment rates in the world.
The focus of the meeting was on the double challenge of sustaining economic growth and creating jobs. Recent shifts in the Arab world, together with an economic contraction at the global level, have created urgency for decision makers from the region to address the unfolding economic situation. The key role of private companies and investment in economic growth and human development of the region was especially highlighted.
Objectives identified included supporting the development of the private sector by creating business environments that promote enterprise development and healthy competition; fostering social and economic inclusion by generating more jobs, especially for educated youth; and improving governance, transparency, and accountability, as well as promoting the participation of civil society and the private sector, to address corruption.
Move One involvement focused specifically on developing more efficient responses to humanitarian disasters, particularly in massive disruptions to transport networks and supply chains caused by natural disasters.
With offices located throughout Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and corporate headquarters located in Dubai, Move One has built a successful track record in handling everything from small shipments to heavy, over-sized cargo for a variety of business sectors including military, diplomatic, oil and gas industry and civil engineering projects in the region.
