Global leaders in the oil and gas industry are to descend on the UK for an annual technical day organised by Reservoir Group member company Kirk Petrophysics.

Experts from across the field will lead the discussions at the event, which is being held at the firm’s newly expanded Core Centre in Guildford next month. Specialists from leading international firms including Schlumberger, Dhahran Carbonate Research Centre, SGS and Empirica will be among those attending the event, which has been increasing in popularity throughout its four years.

The technical day, which takes place on May 30, will provide insight into the latest techniques being used in the coring industry.

The programme will include two core workshops – the first focusing on Nexen’s Buzzard field and being led by Mike Ashton from reservoir geoscience consultants Badley Ashton & Associates. The second will discuss the pre-salt Gamba Sandstone, offshore Gabon, West Africa, and will be presented by John Price of Harvest Natural Resources and Andy Lever from RPS Energy.
