Aberdeen-based OEG Offshore has appointed a new group finance director to lead the company’s finances in the UK and overseas.

Tom Boyle will take on the newly created role, assuming responsibility for all financial, accounting, taxation, regulatory and reporting matters for OEG worldwide. Mr Boyle is a qualified Chartered Accountant and previously worked for National Oilwell Varco (NOV) as the firm’s UK finance director and Eastern Hemisphere financial controller.

Based in the Aberdeen office, Mr Boyle will also join OEG’s board, which governs the holding company and each of the firm’s regional operating companies.

John Heiton, chief executive of OEG, said: ““The group finance director role is a new position that was created in response to significant growth that OEG has undergone over the past 12 months. Running a company with a bigger operational and geographical spread demands a more advanced level of financial reporting and performance analysis.

“Tom has more than 25 years’ experience in accountancy and finance and he brings with him a wealth of financial expertise in the oil service sector and overseas operations. His previous role at NOV means he is well placed to deal with many of the business areas and geographical regions in which OEG operates and his addition to the team will be a great boost for the company.”
