Nautronix continued Norwegian success

Marine Technology solutions providers Nautronix declares the appointment of Sam Hanton as Chief Surveyor.

Sam joins Nautronix after 10 years at Subsea 7 and its predecessors, latterly working as Senior Project Surveyor in both Norway & UK. In this role for Subsea 7 he worked on the Agbami project, Offshore West Africa, where Nautronix’s ‘underwater GPS’ system NASNet® was successfully used to provide all subsea positioning during the phase one construction operations.

His appointment to the Nautronix Management team significantly improves the company’s internal survey experience and capability.

Managing Director Mark Patterson comments; “Sam not only has the survey experience we require but having worked with our NASNet® system first hand he has witnessed the true operational benefits it can offer. We are in an exciting place with NASNet® right now, with major interest from the marketplace for the implementation of this technology. Sam’s experience, satisfaction and belief in the system further enhance our ability to communicate efficiently with our potential customer base and demonstrate NASNet® and its remarkable capability.”

Sam’s role will focus on Nautronix complete survey / navigation activities from tender through to project completion. He will provide NASNet® field layout planning support and expert operational NASNet® specific support to customers through the life of the project. In addition he will provide all NASNet® customer training from the company's new training facility in Aberdeen.

Talking of his new role Sam said “I’m delighted to be joining Nautronix at this exciting time. With the ever increasing number of large scale deepwater developments I look forward to being part of the Nautronix team; developing the success of NASNet® and bringing significant financial and operational benefits to our customers.”

Sam will be based at Nautronix headquarters in Aberdeen.
