Nordic Heavy Lift says that an important milestone has been reached. On the 10th of November 2008 the keel for the heavy lift construction vessel BOREALIS has been laid at the Nantong Yahua Shipyard in Nantong, China.

Nordic Heavy Lift is building a state of the art mono hull 5,000 tonne heavy lift construction vessel with deep water installation capabilities at Sembawang Shipyard Pte. Ltd., Singapore (SSPL). The hull of the BOREALIS is being built by SSPL at the Nantong Yahua Shipyard in Nantong, China.

For Nordic Heavy Lift this milestone signifies and underlines the progress of the construction project.

Sembawang Shipyard Pte. Ltd. General Manager (Offshore and Conversion), Mr. Samuel Wong comments that: “Our commitment to Nordic Heavy Lift for the construction of the HLCV BOREALIS stands to underline our drive and ambition to deliver first class marine assets for the demanding offshore oil and gas service industry”.

For the clients of Nordic Heavy Lift the availability of the BOREALIS means access to a new heavy lift construction vessel capable of lifting 5,000 tonnes for surface operations, while for deepwater installation work the BOREALIS will be capable to lower 1,000 tonnes towards water depth of 1,000 meters with its heave compensated deepwater lowering system.
