Petroleum Geo-Services has been awarded the prestigious Stockman prize by the Norwegian Association of Financial Analysts.
This prize is awarded to the Norwegian company that is judged best at informing the financial market and shareholders about its current business, and which delivers the best annual report and quarterly reports based on the principles of financial analysis.
PGS won the Open Class, which includes all companies registered on the Oslo Stock Exchange. The award was presented at the annual seminar of the Norwegian Association of Financial Analysts on financial reporting, in the Oslo Concert Hall.
First Time for PGS
This is the first time that PGS has been awarded the Stockman prize, Tore Langballe SVP Corporate Communications & Marketing commented:
"This award is a result of systematic team work within the PGS organization and disclosure of relevant, credible and consistent information to the investor community. The Award in Open Class not only considers our communication of financial figures, corporate strategy and market outlook, but also our emphasis and reporting on corporate social responsibility, including HSEQ, and corporate governance.
"We are very grateful to get this award," says Bard Stenberg, Investor Relations Manager, "Especially after the financial crisis hit, we have had a strategy of being more available for analysts and investors and doing our utmost to give credible information, both in written reports and in investor meetings and presentations. In 2005 we started hosting an annual capital markets day and our goal is to make small improvements to that event every year."
