Offspring International Ltd (OIL) has been appointed an international agent for Bassi Offshore, a supplier of floating and submarine hoses. The agreement marks a strengthening of OIL's single point mooring portfolio and will raise Bassi Offshore’s profile in the offshore market.

Part of the IVG Group, Bassi Offshore makes high performance submarine and floating rubber hoses for the transfer of crude oil and derivative products. The hoses are used in single point mooring (SPM), Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) and other offshore applications. The company owns a state-of-the-art factory at Gironico in Northern Italy for the fully automated production of rubber hoses.

OIL is a global supplier of SPM products including chafe chains, support buoys, mooring hawsers and messenger ropes to oil and gas operators, and worldwide agent for Lankhorst Ropes Offshore Division. OIL is also a participant in Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) committees related to SPM moorings and also deepwater mooring related Joint Industry Projects.

“Offspring International is well respected in the SPM market for its technical know-how and high quality products. Moreover their market presence, agency network and industry knowledge will be invaluable as we complete the transition to full compliance with the new OCIMF regulations for offshore hoses,” said Franco Guarnieri, managing director, Bassi Offshore.
