Peter Zeilinger has been named as the new Managing Director for OMV New Zealand.

Earlier this month, OMV New Zealand Managing Director Wayne Kirk confirmed he is stepping down from the role in April. Dr. Kirk has chosen not to extend his contract with OMV and is returning to the UK. Dr. Kirk joined OMV UK in 2004 as Exploration & Reservoir Manager. During his two-year tenure in New Zealand, Dr. Kirk oversaw the completion of the Maari project and saw the field mark its 10 millionth barrel milestone a year later.

Peter Zeilinger has worked with OMV for the past 17 years in a number of countries including Albania, Pakistan and Romania. Since 2007, Mr. Zeilinger has been a Director of Domestic Assets for Exploration and Production at OMV-Petrom which is the largest oil and gas producer in South Eastern Europe and majority owned by OMV. During his career with OMV, Mr. Zeilinger has been involved in onshore and offshore development and re-development projects for both oil and gas fields.

Mr. Zeilinger will take over the OMV New Zealand Managing Director role April 14, 2011 and be based in Wellington.
