Origin Energy Geothermal Pty Ltd, on behalf of the Innamincka Shallows Joint Venture, advises that Rig 100 has completed drilling the Celsius 1 geothermal exploration well, reaching its target depth of 2,360 metres sub-sea (2,416 m MDRT#).

Logging and testing of the well has now commenced in order to evaluate the reservoir properties, including temperature, porosity and permeability at various depths.

Celsius 1 is the first of two exploration wells in this permit designed to assess the potential of the Hot Sedimentary Aquifer (HSA) resource within the Hutton Sandstone in the Eromanga Basin.

Following the two-well program in GRL8 (Geothermal Retention Licence) Origin will use Rig 100 to drill a further well within its 100% owned permit, GEL 185, with the same objectives.
