Specialist downhole tool designer and manufacturer Peak Well Systems (“Peak”) has launched the Peak Impression Block (PIB), a unique lead-free tool for taking high definition impressions of objects within the wellbore. The PIB reduces operating time and offers users a safe and environmentally friendly alternative to Lead Impression Blocks (LIBs), whilst also enhancing the impression taken downhole.
Despite being well documented as a harmful and toxic substance to handle, lead is still used widely in Lead Impression Blocks because there has been no alternative to date. With the launch of the PIB, Peak offers a game-changing alternative to companies that promote health and safety to their employees, and who claim to be environmentally responsible.
